Ross Kemp: Teenage Gangs of South London (Sky One / 1 hour)

The BAFTA award-winning documentary series turns its focus closer to home for this one-off special, as Ross Kemp uncovers the stark reality of gang violence on the streets of the capital. February 2007 was marred by a spate of fatal shootings in south London. In one two-week period, three boys, aged between 15 and 16, were gunned down in gang-related murders. These tragic deaths have served to highlight growing concerns for the increased gun culture among youth gangs in the capital. The Metropolitan Police have identified as many as 169 gangs in London, a quarter of which have been involved in murder, and with the attraction of gang camaraderie, power and the 'bling' lifestyle, the situation appears to be getting worse.
